Our Story
A NEW CHURCH
FOR THE ONE WHO IS WORTHY.
Axios Church Charlotte is a new church launching in the heart of Uptown Charlotte in 2027. We exist to proclaim the worth of Jesus to all people. Our prayer is to be a multi-cultural community that gathers around the gospel and scatters to serve our city.
We are not just planting a church. We are launching a movement — one that proclaims that Jesus is worthy, all people have worth, and Jesus alone is worthy of our lives and our city.

God
We believe there is one sovereign God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of all things.

Jesus
We believe Jesus Christ, God's only Son, was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, rose from the grave and now intercedes for us in Heaven.

Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world in regard to sin, comforts believers, and indwells and equips them for personal growth and service to Jesus Christ.

The Bible
We believe the Holy Scriptures are God's direct words to man — divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy, and the supreme authority.

People
People matter to God. Though man was made in God's image, he has become separated from God due to sin. God's love is so deep, He initiated action to make a way for people to be reconciled to Him.

Salvation
We believe salvation is available only by the grace of God through the blood of Jesus Christ — a free gift offered to all who receive Christ as Lord and Savior, assuring them of eternal life.

Eternity
We believe death seals the eternal destiny of each person. When Christ returns, He will pronounce the eternal fate of each individual — the saved to eternal life, the unsaved to eternal separation from God.

The Church
We believe the mission of the Church is to go to all the world and make disciples of all nations — unified groups of Christians filled with devotion and love, changing the world for Jesus.

Prayer
We believe in the power of prayer, both individually and corporately, as an expression of faith in God's work in our lives. Prayer is an essential part of a Christian life and is used to talk to God and to communicate with Him. We pray for guidance, strength, healing, protection, and for our families, friends, and community. Through prayer, we seek to deepen our understanding of God's will and His plans for our lives. Praying helps us grow closer to God and to gain a better understanding of His will and how we can best serve Him. When we pray, we open ourselves up to God and He will answer us in His own way and in His own time. Prayer is a beautiful and powerful way to communicate with our Heavenly Father and to seek His love and guidance.

Religious Liberty
God alone is Lord of the conscience, and He has left it free from the doctrines and commandments of men which are contrary to His Word or not contained in it. Church and state should be separate. The state owes to every church protection and full freedom in the pursuit of its spiritual ends. In providing for such freedom no ecclesiastical group or denomination should be favored by the state more than others. Civil government being ordained of God, it is the duty of Christians to render loyal obedience thereto in all things not contrary to the revealed will of God. The church should not resort to the civil power to carry on its work. The gospel of Christ contemplates spiritual means alone for the pursuit of its ends. The state has no right to impose penalties for religious opinions of any kind. The state has no right to impose taxes for the support of any form of religion. A free church in a free state is the Christian ideal, and this implies the right of free and unhindered access to God on the part of all men, and the right to form and propagate opinions in the sphere of religion without interference by the civil power.

Marriage
We believe the marriage covenant was designed by God to be exclusively between one man and one woman and is a permanent union between the two. God alone has the ultimate authority to define the marital relationship. Sexual intimacy is only properly exercised and pursued within the confines of marriage.

Ordinance
We believe that Jesus has committed two ordinances to the local church: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of the believer in water into the name of the triune God. We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for the commemoration of His death. We believe each of these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of Christ.

Our Vision
WHY CHARLOTTE?
Charlotte is one of the fastest-growing cities in America. The population of Charlotte is 964,784 (14th largest city in the U.S.), while the broader Greater Charlotte metropolitan region (spanning NC and SC) has an estimated 2,938,830 residents. Although Charlotte is a churched city, this is mostly true of the surrounding region of the city. The Uptown region of Charlotte has very few churches proclaiming the true Gospel of Jesus to all people.

Lead Pastor
ROB WILTON
Rob Wilton is a multi-city movement leader for Christ where he has served as a pastor, church planter, speaker, consultant, and chaplain in New Orleans, Pittsburgh, and now Charlotte. Rob has been extremely thankful to continue to serve the Kingdom of God in multiple ways.
Although his family is from South Africa, Rob was born and raised in New Orleans and this is where he met Jesus. Upon moving to the Carolinas for high school and college, he answered the call to ministry and married his high school sweetheart, Annabeth. Rob played basketball and graduated from North Greenville University. In New Orleans, they welcomed four beautiful children into this world: Bolt, Mack, Birk, and McCall. He has a Masters of Divinity and a Doctorate of Ministry. He loves to travel, play golf and basketball, fly fish, and hang with his family and friends.
